About Me!

Amelia Miller is a Graphic Designer based in Metlakatla, Alaska. She has been attending Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado for the past four years and is about to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design in the spring. She has been connected with all aspects of art and music for her entire life. She has been playing several instruments, singing, and creating all sorts of art throughout her entire life. Being from a small island in southeast Alaska has fostered her creativity to shine no matter where she is or what challenges and limitations show her. Being a part of the Tsimshian tribe has also given her art mediums to work with that most are not exposed to at such a young age. Formline art is a common theme throughout her designs to pay homage to her roots as well as providing representation of her own culture that she feels is lacking in the rest of the United States. Amelia is also a big fan of all things fantasy and that translates into her design inspirations. Her goal is to infuse everyday designs with creativity, whimsy, and as much of herself as possible. She wishes that she had more Indigenous representation in the design world and plans to be that representation for the next generation.
